Turning Awareness Into Action: Supporting Businesses This Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is an important moment in the calendar. It encourages people to start conversations, reflect on their own wellbeing, and check in on those around them.

But at Summits Up, we firmly believe that awareness on its own isn’t enough.
Real impact comes from what happens after the conversation starts.

That’s why during Mental Health Awareness Week in May, we focused on going a step further,  working directly with local businesses to provide practical, meaningful support for their teams.

Supporting Businesses to Support Their People

Over the course of the week, we delivered mental health talks to teams across a number of organisations, including:

  • E.ON
  • Capital One
  • Melton Building Society

These sessions were designed to be real, relatable, and practical not overly clinical or theoretical.

We covered areas such as:

  • Recognising the signs that someone may be struggling
  • How to reach out and start a genuine conversation
  • Simple, effective coping strategies people can use day-to-day
  • The importance of connection, routine, movement, and community

The aim is always the same:
give people the tools and confidence to act, rather than just raising awareness.

Prevention, Not Just Response

A big part of what we believe at Summits Up is that mental health support shouldn’t just start when someone reaches crisis point.

Many of the conversations we have both with individuals and businesses highlight the same thing:
people often struggle in silence for far too long before seeking help.

By working with organisations, we have the opportunity to:

  • Equip people earlier
  • Reduce stigma in the workplace
  • Encourage open, honest conversations
  • Create environments where people feel supported

Ultimately, it’s about prevention as much as it is intervention.

What We Offer Our Partners

As we continue to grow, building partnerships with businesses is a key focus for Summits Up.

We don’t see partnerships as a one-off interaction, but as an opportunity to create ongoing, meaningful impact for both employees and the wider community.

When a business partners with Summits Up, they get access to:

 Ongoing Support & Sessions

  • Mental health awareness talks
  • Workshops tailored to teams
  • Practical guidance employees can apply immediately

Community & Events

  • Invitations to all Summits Up hikes and challenges
  • Access to a supportive, like-minded community
  • Opportunities for staff to get involved outside of the workplace

Exclusive Experiences

  • Bespoke events for your business
  • Team hikes or outdoor challenges
  • Opportunities to build connection and wellbeing through shared experiences

Charity Places & Fundraising

  • Access to events such as the Robin Hood Half Marathon
  • Structured fundraising opportunities that tie directly to real impact

And most importantly, businesses become part of something that delivers real outcomes, not just awareness.

Real Impact

Everything we do ultimately links back to our core mission:

  • Funding fast access to private therapy
  • Supporting people when they need help most
  • Building a community where people feel connected, not alone

The more we can involve businesses in that journey, the more people we can reach.

Looking Ahead

Mental Health Awareness Week is just one week of the year.

The goal for us is to keep that momentum going, to continue working with businesses who want to do more than tick a box, and instead play a genuine role in supporting mental health.

Partner With Us

If your business is thinking about how to approach mental health in a more meaningful way, we’d love to have a conversation.

We’re building partnerships that:

  • support employees
  • engage teams
  • and create real impact in the community

If that sounds like something you’d like to be part of, get in touch.
