At this time of year, our news feeds are full of festival photos, holidays abroad, weddings, nights out, and picture-perfect moments. It can feel like everyone else is having the time of their life while we're stood on the sidelines.
The reality is that social media is a highlight reel, not real life.
What we see is often a carefully selected snapshot of someone's best moments, not the challenges, struggles, worries, or difficult days that exist behind the scenes. Comparing your everyday life to somebody else's highlights is a battle you'll never win.
If you've found yourself feeling a little flat, left behind, or unfulfilled recently, you're not alone.
A few things that can help:
✅ Spend less time scrolling and more time doing
✅ Focus on your own goals rather than someone else's life
✅ Get outside and move your body, even if it's just for a short walk
✅ Practice gratitude for the things going well in your own life
✅ Remember that everyone's journey is different and rarely as perfect as it looks online
Most importantly, be kind to yourself.
The best way to improve your life isn't by comparing it to someone else's. It's by focusing on becoming a little better than you were yesterday. 💚
